1.      New order or copy?

I need to know first if I make new product or I just copy my previous works. Because it is much easier and faster to make same accessory that was made before (of course if I still remember how I made it previous time). It all goes different when I produce something new, then I need idea, it takes time to try how my imagination works in reality. For example, I start making earrings but I realise that they will be too heavy, not comfortable or maybe materials that I use don’t fit and earrings will not have the right shape. All this analysis in my mind and preparing take time. Also in this process I can notice that I miss any metal details, specific colour beads or threads. So I would go to buy something from store that makes everything longer in time.

2.      Custom order?

Everything becomes different when we talk about custom orders. All issues mentioned about new orders here also can be listed. But it takes even more time here because me and my customer need to communicate and find out what exactly should be made. Sometimes customers let me make everything as I want with just a few details from their side. However others have many requests that need to be fulfilled and it really takes my time to put all into reality. Anyway it’s worth to do everything I can to make my customers happy!

3.      Mistake again?

Finally what if I saw or made a mistake and need to start everything new… It really happens sometimes. I remember a few times I was crocheting and in the middle of work I noticed that thread is getting thinner or it was made a knot. Not always it is possible to hide these things and continue, usually I just need to start crocheting new with good quality threads. Other thing that is hidden from customers is my mistakes. It can happen that I have very clear image in my mind of what I want to create but I pick wrong pattern or size and I get completely different result from what I needed. In this situation I can remake accessory or just finish the new project and later I can get back to the first idea.

All these things taking extra time for creating handmade crochet jewelry and accessories are usually hidden from customers.

But you can be sure that in your package with new purchase will come my time spent for creating idea, preparing works, quality and many more invisible things such as my love and beautiful sincere emotions.

So maybe next time you buy handmade thing, you will have in your mind that it might be you got something more than a thing!
